My Studies
I studied piano at the “Manuel de Falla” Municipal Conservatory, and guitar, harmony and Jazz improvisation technique with professors of the caliber of: Luis Borda, Alejandro Moro, Armando Alonso, Néstor Gómez, Lito Epumer and Andreu Zaragoza. Later on, I began Tango studies with Sacri Delfino.
I attended the Seminar on Improvisation given by Gary Burton at Berklee College of Music in Boston and finished my Jazz and modern music studies at L’aula Conservatori del Liceu (home of Berklee College of Music in Bacerlona.). At the same period of time, I studied musical production and sound engineering at EMBA (School of Music of Buenos Aires), and attended the “Seminar on MIDI and Digital Sound” given by José “Chilitos” Valenzuela.
My Professional Career
I have teamed up with diverse Jazz, Latin Jazz and Bossa Nova bands, such as “La Subasta” and “Rubbato Jazz” and appeared as soloist in various festivals, such as the cycle on Jazzology at Centro Cultural General San Martín in Buenos Aires. In Barcelona, I put together the groups “Conexión Tango” (2004/2010, see video) and “La Floresta” (2006/2008) where I was the guitarist, arranger and manager.
Both with my groups and in my collaborations with others as a guitarist, I have appeared in prestigious scenarios, such as Sibiu Jazz Festival (Rumania), Ploeşti Jazz Festival (Rumania), World Performing Arts Festival (Pakistan), Festival International de Tango at Tarbes (France), Festival Internacional de Tango de Sitges (Spain), Tangoneta (Spain), Bel Luna Jazz Restaurant (Spain), Festival de Jazz de Alicante (Spain), etc. As a composer and a producer, I have created numerous works for publicity and film shorts and for different bands, such as “Esta Farfán” (Buenos Aires) and “Rocío Faks” (Barcelona).
At present, I collaborate as a soloist with different bands and give lessons on modern harmony, guitar, sound and musical production, online and in person at Cantabria (Spain), where I live.
